Seersucker season is in full sing. On Friday, April 21, independent specialty storeRubensteins hosted a “Seersucker Social” with family-owned American men’s brandHaspel at its store in New Orleans, LA.

In 1909, Joseph Haspel Sr. openedHaspel, a textile factory specializing in lightweight men’s suits. Haspel — known colloquially as “the Factory” by neighbors and workers — was located at the intersection of Broad St. and St. Bernard Ave. until production moved to Tylertown, Mississippi, where it stayed until the brand was bought out by the Palm Beach Company in the late 1970s.

OUT Magazine included Haspel's Maple Button Down in the Mermaid print in their "Tropical Punch" round-up of clothing to wear in warmer climates.

AtHaspel, Will Swillie was delighted to show off Haspel’s well received (and well-priced) fall ‘17 collection. “For us as a brand known for summer, we’ve had great reaction from stores like Rubenstein’s, Boyds, Levys, Perlis, M. Penner. Our washed cords did particularly well.” Check out their sportcoats at $395, pants at $195 and woven shirts at $166.
